"a community where members work together in friendship and respect"

This line in the mission statement really stood out to me. I believe that it connects a lot of things we do as Bonners. When we reach out to the community we need to be aware of diversity and respect those around us. But we also have to respect each other as a team. We are working together for a common goal to help others. By becoming friends we can help each other grow so much more. We can learn more about ourselves and also how to deal with all different types of people. When we create friendships at our service sites we create a relationship of trust and dependency. I know the freshman can not yet relate to this but I know all the second year bonners can. It is really important to make an impact on the people you work with and also the community you are aiming to help.
