In 2008 Siena College was chosen to host the Bonner Leader Program in an effort to expand the college's rich commitment to meaningful service, liberal arts education, and student leadership development. Building on the efforts of the college's Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy (FCSA), the Siena Bonner Service Leaders Program is a central component of Academic Community Engagement at Siena and the DEEP Service Model of community partnerships. Siena Bonner Service Leaders integrate their long-term, intensive service commitment with their academic careers at Siena, and partner with the Siena VISTA Fellows program, Siena Academic Service Learning intiatives, and Siena Community Based Research Initiatives. Leaders engage in social action that transforms their lives by making positive changes across their campus and within the community. Now here are our stories, our thoughts, our reflections...

I really loved this video of Mos Def besides the fact I have a little crush on him. I agree with him on mostly everything especially National Tupac Day(my favorite rapper and poet), Malcolm X University, and National Skateboard Day. But seriously, What would Tai do if Tai was President?
Well, here is the Tai 12 Points Plan. I hope you enjoy and it is ok to oppose.
1) all Bonner Students receive a full ride to any college with a Bonner program.
2)Legalize marijuana.
3) Change the drinking age to 18.
4) Tax cuts on families or persons making $250,000 or less. Also tax cuts with families that have undergraduate students.
5) Legalize Gay/Lesbian marriage across the United States.
6) Require that every college student do a certain amount of community service to receive a educational award.
7) Eliminate foundations and qbus out of the siena curriculum.
8) Erase racism, sexism, etc. from everyone's mind so that it no longer exist but the history does.
9) Bring home the troops...and elminate war in any country from happening.
10) Add two more days to the month of February so Black History Month can be longer.
11) Eliminate the death penalty from all states.
12) People with tattoos and piercings should not be look down on because of their appearance and should have regular jobs(lawyers, doctors, etc.)
*Bonus - Let Barack Obama stay in office until he dies of old age.
**TAI FOR PRESIDENT**
I honestly can't say I have a CLUE what I would do. If I thought I could handle such decision making, I'd run. Honestly, we have as much power to push laws to congress as he does, except we just need numbers...
Things that definitely need to change though include:
The middle east... everything we got going on in every part just needs to be changed...
Universal health care always sounded good to me!! no matter what the drawbacks.
Taxing everyone, but more for the people above a certain range (including small businesses), kinda like Obama has planned.
Somehow REMOVE the Rockefeller laws.
IMMIGRATION... this is our biggest mess now but it's so under the table and far from us we don't see it. i don't know how to fix it though.
Get rid of the death penalty completely.
legalize marijuana for medical purposes.
NOT let people get married before the age of 18.
create more programs for runaway teens, unemployed, substance addicted, and immigrant populations.
I appreciate any president that has the guts to step up and do whatever they believe is right. i might not agree or like what they do, but I have to respect them if they can say that they truly believe in what they did that day.
