Looking Forward

We are racing to the end of the semester!! Now is the time to start thinking about how we can take your Bonner experience to the next level.

1. Service: what increased responsibilities or focus could you add to your experience next semester/year?

2. Professional Growth: What skills would you like to work on to take your experience to the next level.

3. Programmatic: What new innovative things would you like to try next year?

Blove!!

1. Next year I can increase my involvement by becoming the coordinator of the program I am trying to start. I am trying to create a Health Volunteer Advocate Program, someone would have to take charge of it once it is well under way and I could take on that responsibility.
2. During our meeting Gretchen kinda said as a joke that we could do a training on how to deal with difficult people, as I gave it more thought, I think that would be something worth knowing because as Bonners, we do come in contact with a lot of people and not all of them are as cordial as we would like them to be.
3. Next year I would like to have more Bonner social events because as we've grown in size, I feel like I see everyone less and it would be nice just to have a monthly thing where we could check in and hang out and catch up.

I plan to put in more hours and take a more personal approach to service. I'll take initiative and really build a better foundation for my service learning.
I want to work on networking more with other Bonners, maybe even outside Siena.
I have no idea!

1. I am not sure as I really don't think I am interested in remaining in the position I am in now and I may be interested in being a Senior Intern. I am not sure what that will entail, but I hope to be more involved with maybe a specific site other than the Office of Academic Community Engagement.
2. I would like to work on public speaking. I personally think I am awful at talking in front of people. I get really excited to do it but as soon as I stand up I blank.
3. Monthly service activity as one big huge Bonner family!

B loooove!!!

1. Increased participation in long-term projects and initiatives to grow the program. Possibly also increasing my direct service in the community.

2. Public speaking

3. Monthly or bimonthly group service event

1.
I would actually stick with one plan for a club and do it before I get excited and begin a new idea for a club.

2.
Most of my problems occur due to lack of communication, organization, and motivation. Next year I would love to increase my communication and motivation skills and actually attain some form of organization skills.

3.
I would like to give a training at a Bonner Meeting. Also, I would like to coordinate a couple of volunteer projects. These would be a way to get super fun hours, as well as increase the bond of our B-Love Family.

3. Next year I would like to try to have more influence in the Boys and Girls Club and develop my own program.

I would like to increase my involvement by taking my service forward and informing others as well as incorporating it to my academics.
I would like to work on my relationship with other people. How to keep it more professional and make it more efficient. I would also like to work in my planning and leadership skills. I feel that sometimes i don't take initiative.
Next year i would like to change my site and work with the re entry program. After experiencing a criminal Justice class and joining the siena college prelaw certificate program i would like to focus more on my future vocation.

1. Next year I really want to expand the nutrition club and do it with different age groups. Doing it during lunch works out well so I would like to keep that the same.

2. I would like to work on public speaking and learning how to facilitate effectively.

3. I'm going to agree with April on this one, I would like to do more group service.

At the USCRI, I think I'd like to start laying down the foundation for a more structured ESOL program, and start implementing ideas that I have more often. Now that I have had a year of experience here, I hope that people will see me as a more seasoned and practiced intern next year.

2. Professional Growth: What skills would you like to work on to take your experience to the next level.
Next year, I'd really like to work on my people skills. Although I do work well with individuals who work well with others, as ananda said, I need to learn how to work with stressed, hostile, and sarcastic people.

3. Programmatic: What new innovative things would you like to try next year?
I would definitely like to try to hold monthly meetings for my staff of ESOL teachers to catch up on what's going on in the classroom and brainstorm about what we can change.

I want to expand on my sign language club. Right now we only have a small group of kids and have only had a very few meetings. I would like to open it up to more students and make it a bigger and better club. I would also like to take on a new role in Siena Bonner group. I know that gretchen had mention that new bonner positions would be opening up and i would love to be a part of that.

2. Professional Growth: What skills would you like to work on to take your experience to the next level.
I would like to continue working on public speaking and professional skills. Maybe we could have an interview training since alot of jr next year will need to start thinking about grad school or finding a job.

3. Programmatic: What new innovative things would you like to try next year?
I want to get the students in siena move involved with community service opportunities that bonners have. They do not need to be a part of bonner to help out with our projects. We can even have more opportunities for the kids of our site to come to siena and students would be able to help out with that.

1. Service: what increased responsibilities or focus could you add to your experience next semester/year? As everyone knows I was a new Bonner in the middle of the semester and I start my service late. I have only been around for a small amount of time. I think that in the fall I would like to go to more workshops and more CASH coalition meeting. These meetings are about the different things that go on in the community and how Unity House can help. I really would like to be the bridge between Siena VITA volunteers during tax sense. Finally I would really like to do my first Financial Literacy workshop ran by me.

2. Professional Growth: What skills would you like to work on to take your experience to the next level? I would like to work on my public speaking because am going to be teaching others. I really would like to be able to communicate in the most effective manner. I would like everyone to learn from what I have to say and make the workshops excited for the people I get to work with. I think I need to learn how to create a balance between information and activities. I would not what to bore the people I help I want them to learn in a fun environment. One of the most difficult things for a person is to talk about their personal finance so I have to learn to communicate and build trust.

3. Programmatic: What new innovative things would you like to try next year? I would like to use more technology and incorporate the thing I learn in CSIS. For example using Google docs.

1. Next semester I would like to settle into my position as the Service Learning intern. I would like to take on more projects in service learning and be able to meet with professors and match them up with community partners that can integrate service with the objective of their class.

2. The one specific skill that I really want to work on is my public speaking. Not only can this help me with my internship, but I believe it is a valuable skill that will help me in my professional career later on in life.

3. A new project that i would like to work on next year is to design a training for students in service learning. The idea behind the training would be to give students the big picture of what they are doing in their service learning courses. It would emphasize the importance of bringing sustainable change rather than doing a one time service opportunity such as serving at a soup kitchen .

1. Service: what increased responsibilities or focus could you add to your experience next semester/year? working in the "homework club" this year at the boys and girls club made me realize that a lot of the kids need specific help with similar things. i wanted to take on creating some sort of "homework help pack" with study guides and references so their homework will not be so hard for them. also i will continue helping carly with the family plus program and hope to be more involved with that.

2. Professional Growth: What skills would you like to work on to take your experience to the next level.stress management would help me out a lot because i tend to break down very easily.

3. Programmatic: What new innovative things would you like to try next year? i would like to have more group events. when we used to have service days on the weekend together i really enjoyed it. especially now the groups are split i rarely see my fellow bonners i wish we could have more events like habitat.

1.
I plan on being more of a leader and taking charge and perhaps starting my own site that I am passionate about.

2.
I would like to work on meeting deadlines better. As this blog shows by being late, I sometimes forget deadlines or wait till it is very last minute.

3.
I would like to try to be a site leader for a site that I am going to try to develop this summer.
